Kayas-Kosmos's News

Posted by Kayas-Kosmos - October 3rd, 2022

I am joking about it being a mistake of course. My first post on there already has a ton of views and likes despite it being really low effort.

But it really sheds a light on how bad platforms like Instagram are becoming for artists. My posts get absolutely buried on there now, only scraping 20 likes if I'm lucky (whereas my posts used to get between 40-60 likes). I know we all like to joke about TikTok being cringe, but I'd rather be on a "cringe" platform than one that's completely unusable.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to being able to make some short process videos and other little projects. Feel free to follow me on there if you're interested in that kind of stuff!

Hope you are all having a good start to your week.

Hello everyone.

I will be doing a 30% discount on all commissions until the end of September. I'm still waiting to hear back on some more long-term employment opportunities that may be coming up so any commissions would really help me right now.

Please email me at kayaskosmos@gmail.com if you are interested!

Or if you don't want a commission, you can always donate to my Ko-Fi to help support my projects:

Hello everyone, I have some important announcements to make.

I recently finished a client project that has been going on for several months. Due to multiple difficulties faced during this project, I am going to have to change the way I run my business, especially with regards to my rates and terms of service for long-term projects. This also comes about because of the cost of living crisis currently ravaging the UK, meaning that I have no choice but to be much stricter with what I charge and the number of revisions a client is allowed per drawing.

I will also be sending off my portfolio/CV to different companies as I would really like to be able to properly break into the industry this year.

In the meantime, I am re-opening all types of commissions for September. If you are interested in getting a commission from me, here are the types of commissions I do and my prices. Please also take some time to read through my TOS if you would like to commission me.

And as always, I am still developing my webcomic project "Flowerpunk." It had recently halted due to the aforementioned project taking up all of my time, but progress is slowly ramping up again. If you haven't seen the project before, please check out the links below.

Lastly, if you like my work and want to support me, please consider donating a Ko-Fi. It would really help me at the moment.

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

Hello everyone.

I have new commission slots open for £5+ simple sketches and £35+ flat shaded drawings (an example of which is posted above).

I am also booking commission slots for all other tiers, including simple shaded and full digital paintings. However, these commissions I won't be able to start until after mid August. If you would like to see my commission tiers, please check out the link below:

Or if you would just like to help support the work I do and help me get projects such as "Flowerpunk" launched sooner, please consider donating a Ko-Fi:

And for those of you who haven't seen the Flowerpunk trailer, please check it out below. Flowerpunk is going to be absolutely full of my weird creatures and characters, including the creature you see at the top of this post, (known as a slandermander). I also hope to be able to make the webcomic into a public domain IP someday.

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great start to their week!

Hello everyone.

I haven't got any new artwork to post right now as I am currently working on projects under an NDA. However, I do have some teaser images for my upcoming "Flowerpunk" webcomic, a story that will contain a lot of my bizarre creatures.

Set in a world with magical technology, Flowerpunk tells the story of a group of anarchists trying to help save the city of Wyrdon from a supernatural rot that has infected everything and is turning its residents into maggots. If you would like to learn more, here is a teaser trailer:

Below are some of the sample panels that introduce the city of Wyrdon. If you would like to support the project, please consider either sharing my work or donating to my Ko-FI as this will help me get the project launched faster:

Thank you, and I hope you're all having a great week!

Hello everyone, and happy pride month!

Firstly, I wanted to say hello to all of my new followers. I'm really happy that you all like my work so much.

Secondly, I wanted to announce that I have changed the webcomic project I am doing. I was originally going to work on a webcomic called "The Increasingly Absurd Endeavours of Gretchen Goosander", but this comic project is very large and ambitious and I wanted to do something smaller as practise so I can polish the style I will be using in the main webcomic series.

This new webcomic is called "Flowerpunk" and is a 10-part miniseries that takes place in the same universe as the aforementioned series. It will also tie into the events of the main webcomic series, however it follows a different group of characters. Primarily, an anarcho-punk named Ludwig and a candycore softboy called Kimi as they try to navigate the decaying city of Wyrdon, trying to save as many people as they can from a supernatural plague called "The rot" which turns people into maggots.

Also keeping this post in theme with pride month, the comic features a ton of very colourful queer characters including the two main leads.

Check out the concept art and trailers here if you're interested:

Hello everyone.

So I recently got an influx of new followers after a drawing of mine was front-paged, so thank you all very much for following my work! Apologies for not been very active on Newgrounds for a while, life stuff and 2020 kind of got in the way. So I think it's time I gave an update on what I am doing nowadays.

Last year, I started work on re-booting an old series, "The Increasingly Absurd Endeavours of Gretchen Goosander", turning it from a book into a webcomic. So far it has come a long way with a lot of new concepts and complete character overhauls. The first 7 stories have been drafted out and a lot of new characters have been added. The tone of the story has also been the biggest shift, becoming much darker with much higher stakes, but ultimately it will keep its more humorous side that was present in the original story. The comic is a fantasy with a sci-fi twist, set in a world where there is magical creatures and emerging biopunk technology.

The basic premise of the story goes as follows. A young girl by the name of Gretchen Goosander heralds from a family of famous and widely celebrated explorers. Sadly, the world in which she inhabits is succumbing to a strange blight known as "the rot", literal scars of the world infested with demonic maggots. Furthermore, all of the magical creatures are believed to be extinct having not been seen in Centuries. However, a horrifying incident turns Gretchen's life upside-down, leaving her in the care of a fragile newborn dragon and forcing her to confront the reality that her family may have been at least partially responsible for helping create the rot. She sets out into the world, accompanied by her tiny dragon, so that she can set things right.

The comic is full of bizarre characters and creatures, from the adorable whistling unicorn to the terrifying sabre-toothed swan. If you're interested in this concept, I regularly post updates and sketches on Twitter, (I'm more active there these days compared to other platforms).

Anyway, I hope all of you are keeping well despite current circumstances.

Peace ^^

Hello everyone.

The Overwatch fan comic that I have been working on for about a year now has been cancelled. I managed to reach page 13, but in light of what happened to Blitzchung, I have now stopped producing the comic and I will be moving the character Humphrey over into the Gretchen Goosander series instead - a different project of mine that I have been putting off for far too long.

If you would like to read more of why I am making this decision, I have made a post about it here:

I am pretty upset about this, but also relieved since this portfolio project was kind of wearing me out. Anyway, hope everyone is having a good day.
